WHAT IS SI BRIDGES TO THE BACCALAUREATE?

Training and support for SI Bridges scholars occurs while you are a community college student. Eligible students apply to the program in the fall of their freshman or sophomore year. Accepted scholars participate in a two-year program that has the following key features:

• Paid professional training in biomedical and behavioral science (BBS) research through seminars, innovative courses, and group and individual research experiences
• Strong multi-faceted mentoring, academic advising, tutoring and counseling
• Professional development activities that include enhancement of communication and academic skills, success strategies, career planning, and exposure to BBS disciplines

Following completion of the program, scholars will transfer to SIU to complete the Baccalaureate Degree in a BBS field.
